Help-Portrait is a group of photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists using their time, tools and expertise to give back to those in need. The event happens once each year, on the same day, all over the world. The 2013 event at Glide Memorial was my second opportunity to volunteer for the group, and it was both challenging and rewarding in many ways. 

I helped to organize and guide the photo editors during the 2013 event, and we processed hundred of photos for local individuals and families, some of which had never had their photo taken! During the holiday season, it's important to remember the importance of volunteer work, and giving back. I met a number of great people at the event, some telling me very personal stories about their lives. I can only hope that our group was able to add a little holiday cheer to their lives.
